We reported about the possibility of Nokia Android Phones receiving Android 7.1.2 Nougat update before the Android Oreo update. We even caught a Nokia 6 with Android 7.1.2 getting tested on GFXBench.
The good news is that Nokia 6 (TA-1021) has started receiving the Android 7.1.2 Nougat update in some of the markets already. The software update also packs the October security update.
As you can see in the screenshots above the Android 7.1.2 + October security update for Nokia 6 is 664.5 MB in size. The changelog for the update mentions improved system stability and user-interface enhancements too.
Android 7.1.2 brings enhanced notification stability, Battery Usage alerts, fingerprint swipe performance improvements and more. It also packs a number of bug fixes, added features, and general performance/stability improvements.
HMD has been quite consistent in terms of releasing Monthly Security updates and OS updates for Nokia smartphones already available in the market. HMD has also made it clear that all Nokia Android Phones will receive minimum two years of OS update support.
