Sad News For Windows Phone 2G users

The search experience which was made available in the universal Store in Windows 10 preview was not up to the mark. Today, Microsoft announced that changes are coming in the new Windows Store: lists and search algorithms, a new web Store, changes to the app listings and updates to ratings and reviews.

Microsoft recently launched a new web Store and confirmed that some of the previously existing functionality is not available in this initial launch. For example, there is no way to see the version number of the app and the last date it was updated in the new web Store. Other changes related to web Store.

  • New web Store and URL redirects: The previous Store URLs windows.microsoft.com and www.windowsphone.com now redirect customers to the new web Store apps.microsoft.com. Existing URLs and links continue to work and automatically redirect customers to the new Store.
  • Installing apps from web Store not available. Installing apps to a Windows Phone when using the Store in a PC browser is not supported. Apps must be installed from the device itself.

Now in windows phone we have to download and install the apps/Games from the phone itself.
Who uses 2G it will hard to face this problem, but Microsoft said that in windows 10 we can download over 100Mb Games,Apps via 3G.

Staples stores will upgrade any Windows 7 or 8.1 PC to Windows 10 for free

While Windows 10 will start rolling out online on July 29, people who don't want to wait will soon have another option. Windows Central has learned that Staples stores in the US will begin offering customers a way to quickly update their old or new Windows 7 or 8.1 PCs to Windows 10 for free, even if the PC was not originally purchased at Staples.

According to Windows Central source, Staples stores will perform the upgrade using USB files, rather than online. All stores should be able to handle these offline updates by August 2. Since we don't know yet how long it will take for Microsoft to complete the online roll-out for Windows 10, this might be a faster way for users to get their free upgrade, especially if their PCs are not signed up for the Windows Insider program. As with these types of programs, it's best to call your local Staples store ahead of time to find out when they will begin this upgrade offer.

Five Best Features Coming with windows 10 For phone

Windows 10 Features

Windows 10 Mobile is an edition of the Windows 10 operating system developed by Microsoft. This edition of Windows 10 is a mobile operating system that succeeds Windows Phone 8.1 and is designed for smartphones, and small tablets under 8 inches in screen size, running on ARM as well as IA-32 processor architectures.
Windows 10 Mobile aims to provide a larger amount of synergy with its counterpart for personal computers, including more extensive synchronization of content, a new "universal" application ecosystem that will provide the ability to port apps developed for Windows 10 on PCs, Android, and iOS to the platform, as well as the capability to, on supported hardware, connect devices to an external display and utilize a "PC-like" interface with mouse and keyboard input support.

Five Best Features To Come:
[1] Universal apps
One of Windows 10's standout features is universal apps, which means that applications will work across phones, tablets and PCs.
This means that, much like the iPhone does with Macs, Windows handset will work hand-in-hand with desktop devices. For example, if you clear an app on your phone, it will also clear on your PC, and Microsoft has announced that full Word, Excel and PowerPoint apps will be available on mobile devices.

[2] Improvement in user interface
Windows 10 Mobile won't look identical to the PC version, but it won't be far off. For example, a custom background image will show through translucent live tiles, and you'll be able to see recently used apps by swiping the screen.
Windows 10 will also bring with it a new layout to the settings screen, making it look a lot more like the version found on desktop and tablets.

[3] New Keyboard
Windows 10 Mobile will also bring with it a new keyboard. The Word Flow keyboard will be improved for one-handed use, and Windows handset users will be able to voice input to reply to messages by clicking the microphone button. Microsoft claims the speech system is sophisticated enough to recognise names, hash tags and insert punctuation.

[4] Microsoft Edge
Microsoft Edge, previously codenamed
Project Spartan , will be made available on Windows Phone handsets. The browser promises to boost performance compared to Internet Explorer, and Microsoft claims that it will make your more productive on the web.

[5] iOS and Android apps
At Build, Microsoft announced new toolkits that enable developers to easily port their existing code to Windows 10. One of these will enable Android Java and C++ code from Android apps to run on Windows, while a second will enable developers to take iOS objective C used for iPhone and iPad apps and compile it within Visual Studio as a Windows app.

Windows 10: Technical Preview for Mobiles Build 10134 Screenshots leaked

Microsoft is currently beta testing Windows 10 Mobile with Insiders and while they have not released a new build in a couple of weeks, screenshots from 10.0.10134 have shown up online.
It does look like there are a few tweaks in this build - for example, Spartan (Edge) and the Store now have a dark theme that can be turned on. Also, Spartan can pin websites to the Start screen - this was previously only available with IE - and there has been a slight wording change for one of the settings as well: "Predict the next page and speed up browsing with flip ahead" is changed to "Use page prediction to speed up browsing and improving reading view".
In the settings, Mobile+SIM has been renamed to Cellular and Cortana now has the same onboarding UI as the desktop; you can take a look at all the screenshots in the gallery below.
On the multitasking screens, the X to close the windows has been updated from a small circle with an X in it to the more modern and larger X that matches what we see on the desktop too. Also, the background of the multitasking page can now display the same image used on the Start screen instead of just the accent color.
Microsoft has said that Windows 10 Mobile will not be released with Windows 10 for the PC on July 29th. While the company has not officially announced when the mobile version will arrive, current expectations are that it should land sometime this fall along with new hardware that will support Phone Continuum.

What's new in Android M which is already in Windows 10 (phone)

Android M is Google’s latest version of Android, just announced at Google IO 15.
The new version brings a  variety of new features, but some of them may already be familiar to Windows Phone fans, having either used them for ages, or having seen them announced already at BUILD 2015.
Some familiar features, from either Windows Phone or Windows 10 Mobile include:
*.USB Type C support
*.Simplified volume controls
*.Fingerprint sensor support
*.Improved Face unlock
*.Alphabetic App list with Search
*.Auto backup for Apps
*.Do not Disturb automatic rules and repeat caller prioritization (available via Cortana Quiet Hours)
*.Granular App Permissions
*.Light and Dark theme
Some features we would love to see in our operating system would include:
*.Doze – where if your phone is not moved for a while the device goes into a super-low powered idle mode.
*.Android Pay – while Windows 10 will support Host Card Emulation, Microsoft has still not announced their own payment service.
*.Now On Tap – Cortana is great, but would be more helpful if it could pick up context from the apps we are using already.
Have our readers noticed any cool features which Microsoft should borrow? Let us know below.
