Nokia 8.1 Launched in Live Product Launch in Dubai

Nokia 8.1 Plus is the new Successor of the Midrange Flagship Nokia 7 Plus. This is the new smartphone addition in the 2018 Nokia smartphones Lineups. It will be available from Mid-December 2018. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 processor and packs 4GB RAM and 64GB Internal Memory with the combination of pure Android 9.0 Pie.

Nokia 8.1 comes with a 19:9 ratio 6.18-inch display. It comes with a Dual speaker.

Nokia 8.1 Plus display works well both indoors and outdoors. Because of it being Pure Display, the sunlight legibility is top notch. Nokia 8.1 Comes with 20MP front facing camera with 12MP/13MP rear dual cameras with Carl Zeiss Lens. The converted price from the 399 Euro is roughly Rs. 32,000.

Android 9.0 Pie Official Update is now rolling out to Nokia 6.1

Nokia 6.1 or the Nokia 6 (2018) has now become HMD Global's second smartphone to receive the final Android 9.0 Pie stable build. To recall, the Nokia 7 Plus became the company's first phone to receive the Android Pie final build back in September, however, the initial rollout was plagued by certain bugs. The Finnish smartphone maker has now gone ahead and fulfilled its promise of rolling out the latest software update for Nokia 6.1 before the end of October. In accordance, we can expect the Nokia 6.1 Plus to also get the stable update in the next couple of days, considering it has already received it via Nokia Beta Labs.

Earlier this month, HMD had announced that while Nokia 6.1 and Nokia 6.1 Plus would be receiving Android Pie stable this month itself, the Nokia 8 and Nokia 8 Sirocco are expected to get it sometime next month. The company has, however, not provided any clear dates for Android Pie release on any these smartphones. Prompt updates are now emerging to be a prowess for Nokia's smartphone lineup considering the fact that all phones are based on Google's Android One programme.

With Android Pie, the Nokia 6.1 now gets features including Adaptive Battery, Slices, redesigned system navigation gestures, and many more. Nokia 6.1 users also get "exclusive" access to App Actions that offer predictions and display the expected next action in the UI.

While Your App's UID Is Idle, The Mic Reports Empty Audio And Sensors Stop Reporting Events. Cameras Used By Your App Are Disconnected And Will Generate An Error If The App Tries To Use Them. In Most Cases, These Restrictions Should Not Introduce New Issues For Existing Apps, But We Recommend Removing These Requests From Your Apps.

Nokia sold more smartphones than HTC, Sony, Google, OnePlus, Lenovo in Q4 2017

HMD sold 4.4 million Nokia Android smartphones in Q4 2017 to claim the 11th rank among top smartphone vendors across the globe. Now, as per CounterPoint Research, this resulted in Nokia emerging as a bigger smartphone brand than HTC, Sony, Google, OnePlus, Lenovo and many others.

Check the list of smartphone manufacturers that Nokia managed to outsell in Q4 2017.

CounterPoint research has some words of advice for HMD to finetune their strategy and focus on customers in Asia, Europe, and MEA. For success in LATAM markets, HMD certainly needs to build relationships with operators.

Nokia smartphone shipments numbers touched 8.7 million in 2017 and it is certainly a solid start on which HMD needs to build upon in 2018. With HMD expecting to release a number of compelling smartphones like Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco aka Nokia 9 and volume drivers like Nokia 1 in March-April globally we can expect a real boost to the shipment volumes further.

HMD promised a sooner Android Oreo update roll-out to Nokia 6 2017 in China when it began the Oreo update roll out to Nokia 7 and Nokia 6 2018. The good news is that the Android Oreo update is now available for Nokia 6 2017 (TA-1000, TA-1003) & TA-1021 (Bangladesh)

The Android Oreo Beta update for Nokia 6 2017 (TA-1000 & TA-1003) is 1587 MB in size. Whereas TA-1021 is 1659 MB You can just check for the update by going to Settings–>System–>About Phone–>System update.

Android Oreo is a significant update that brings a number of improvements in the Android user experience. It brings many new features such as picture-in-picture, autofill, integrated Instant Apps, Google Play Protect, faster boot time, and much more. There may be some China-specific customization too. But the Good news is Dolby Atmos Settings is Back.

HMD has made Android Oreo Beta available for Nokia 6 in other markets and will release the stable update soon. China is not eligible to get Beta updates and get the stable Oreo update directly.

Nokia 8 was the first HMD’s phone to start beta testing of the Oreo and now it is opening the beta test for next version of Oreo, Android 8.1.

Juho Sarvikas has just announced that the Oreo 8.1 beta is ready for Nokia 8 beta testers. Android 8.1 will bring many new features, but if you do sign in for the beta test you got to be aware that it will be buggy.

If you would like to be a beta tester, just visit Nokia Beta Labs page, and sign in with your Nokia account and IMEI number of your Nokia 8. Update is available today.

Here are some most important new features of Android 8.1:

1. Battery percentage of BT device now visible
2. Safer browsing through third party app detection of WebView attempts that can point to malicious URLs
3. Fingerprint sensor can go offline after unregistered fingerprint attempts to unlock device multiple times
4. WiFi speeds can be detected prior to connection
5. Apps can push notification chimes once per second
6. Cheeseburger arranged properly

HMD is really doing a great job and keeping its word about bringing all the latest updates faster to its phones. Nokia 8 is one of the first phones to get the 8.1 Beta update. I would love to see other Nokia phones getting the same beta test update, but hopefully that will follow soon. It took HMD a month and a half to end Beta test for the Android 8.0, so maybe we’ll see official 8.1 update available for it somewhere in March.

[Launching Tomorrow] Nokia 6 2018 official listing at Suning along with Details

Nokia 6 2018 will be launched officially in china tomorrow. But before the official unveil, it has been listed at the retailer Suning’s official online retail store.
