Second series of Nokia Android smartphones might launch sooner than expected.
Nokia made its grand comeback this year by launching four smartphones – the Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6, Nokia 8 smartphones, and the classic 3310 feature phone. Now, rumors mills are already buzzing with leaks suggesting that HMD Global might launch the second series of its Android smartphones as early as the beginning of 2018. Three new Android smartphones are expected to launch at MWC 2018 in Barcelona.
The latest information comes from a BPO employee (via gadgetpilipinas.net), who works for the company that carries out logistics for HMD Global. He claims that the Nokia 2, 7 and 9 are coming early next year. While rumors about Nokia 2 and Nokia 9 have been around for a while now, Nokia 7 is the latest to join the list. The Nokia 2 is said to retain the same design as that of Nokia 3.
In terms of specifications, the Nokia 2 is expected to feature a 5-inch HD display. It is likely to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC clocked at 1.27GHz and paired with either 1GB or 2GB of RAM. The smartphone is rumored to pack a massive 4,000mAh battery, and sport an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.
Nokia 9 is yet another smartphone that has been spotted on numerous occasions. Thanks to the leaks, we know that the Nokia 9 might come with dual-camera setup and 3D bezel-less display among its main features. In terms of other specifications, the Nokia 9 might feature a 5.7-inch quad HD display. While the processor of the phone is not known yet, it is speculated that the Nokia 9 will come paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM with 128GB of default storage. There is a possibility of an iris scanner as well. Nokia 9 will be the successor to this year’s Nokia 8.
The Nokia 7, on the other hand, is new to the rumor mill and hence not much is known about the same. But considering Nokia 7 might replace Nokia 6 from this year’s portfolio, we can expect the smartphone to be priced at under Rs 20,000. The Nokia 6 is priced at Rs 14,999.
