Looks like 2018 will be the year of notches for smartphones. Many manufactures are going by the 18:9 ratio display and very small bezels, trying to design a completely bezel-less phone. If the phones are bezel-less where would they place the front camera , sensors and the fingerprint reader. Well , the answer was to place the front camera and the sensors in a "Notch" , and the fingerprint sensor under the display. But not many of us like the notch, do we? Many android phones launched this year came with a notch , following the iPhone X.
Here's the shocking news , Nokia is also testing a phone with the notch too. According to the rumours coming from China , HMD Global has already begun the trail production of this bezel-less flagship , probably the one with the "penta-lens" setup , with a notch and a under-the-screen fingerprint reader. In addition to these the NOKIA logo has been shifted from the front side of the phone to the right side ( may be below the power button ) . This comes from a source which has been accurate in the past. There are a few more prototype units in the testing too, including a design without a notch. So the one with the notch might not end up as the final design.
Even Google has added native support for displays with a notch in the Android P developer preview. So we will be seeing many android phones with a notch this year. Let's hope Nokia is not one of them, unless their notch is not a distraction to the users.

HMD launched four new Nokia Smartphones at the MWC including Nokia 8 Sirocco as the flagship smartphone. But we had exclusively reported earlier HMD is preparing Snapdragon 845 powered Nokia 8 Pro targeted at August 2018.
Now, we can confirm that Nokia 8 Pro is not the only Flagship that will come powered by Snapdragon 845, but as we had earlier told you Nokia 9 or Nokia 9 2018 is also on the HMD’s 2018 roadmap. Nokia 9 2017 has been in fact launched as Nokia 8 Sirocco.
what to expect in terms of specs and feature from Nokia 9?
What we hear is that Nokia 9 will be the ultimate 2018 flagship with best-in-class camera, design and some breakthrough innovative features. While Nokia 8 Pro was earlier tipped as featuring the Penta-Lens camera module, we now hear that Nokia 9 camera may be even more powerful and innovative.
Nokia 9 will also better Nokia 8 Pro in terms of a display featuring Industry-leading innovations like the in-display fingerprint sensor. Nokia 9 may feature a slightly larger display as compared to the Nokia 8 Pro (5.7-inch vs 5.5-inch, though not confirmed yet).
Nokia 9 may be considerably more expensive than Nokia 8 Pro too and may come in the price range of top Android flagships like Samsung Galaxy S9+.
More information may emerge about these two Nokia Flasghip devices powered by Snapdragon 845 at a later stage. Nokia 9 may see its announcement even later than Nokia 8 Pro somewhere in September 2018.

Like always Nokia is attending MWC this year too. HMD Global is expected to announce at least 4 smartphones and 2 feature phones. The flagship Nokia 8 sirocco / Nokia 9 , Android One Nokia 7 Plus , Nokia 6 2nd generation , Nokia 1 and maybe a Nokia 4 and successors to Nokia 5 and Nokia 3. HMD sold 4.4 million Nokia Android smartphones in Q4 2017 to claim the 11th rank among top smartphone vendors across the globe. Now, as per CounterPoint Research, this resulted in Nokia emerging as a bigger smartphone brand than HTC, Sony, Google, OnePlus, Lenovo and many others.

CounterPoint research has some words of advice for HMD to finetune their strategy and focus on customers in Asia, Europe, and MEA. For success in LATAM markets, HMD certainly needs to build relationships with operators.
Nokia smartphone shipments numbers touched 8.7 million in 2017 and it is certainly a solid start on which HMD needs to build upon in 2018. With HMD expecting to release a number of compelling smartphones like Nokia 6.1, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco aka Nokia 9 and volume drivers like Nokia 1 in March-April globally we can expect a real boost to the shipment volumes further.
TA-1005 had passed Russian certification back in May 2017. Now, when HMD has decided to finally launch it as Nokia 8 Sirocco , we told you that it was earlier supposed to come as Nokia 9.

In last few days lots of Nokia 8 Sirocco leaks have appeared confirming and revealing most of the specs. HMD may be planning to launch Nokia 9 2018 as Nokia 9 only and it may be the first Nokia flagship with Snapdragon 845 processor in 2018.
Trust Concept creator, the YouTube channel well-known for creating realistic concepts of upcoming smartphones to come up with a Nokia 10 concept that looks interesting. This Nokia 10 concept is based on the recent leaks and features the Penta-lens Camera module too.
The probable camera module design was shared by one of the most trusted Nokia leaksters from China. The concept imagines a 3.5 mm headphone jack, fingerprint sensor on the back and a Dual-lens front camera.
The source of the original rumor/leak had claimed that Nokia 10 will feature a 18:9 display and will come with double-glass (both front and back) design comparable to Nokia 9. Nokia 10 will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor.
We first learned about Nokia 7 Plus via the Nokia Camera APK tear-down along with a host of other new and unannounced Nokia smartphones. Now, Nokia 7 Plus has appeared at Geekbench revealing that it will be powered by Snapdragon 660 processor, one of the first Android smartphones to do so.
This makes Nokia 7 Plus again a good upgrade over Nokia 7 as Nokia 7 runs on Snapdragon 630. As per the Geekbench listing, it will come with 4GB RAM. But it may have a 6GB variant too as we have seen in the case of Nokia 7.
MWC 2018 is certainly getting more and more exciting with these new leaks as it seems not only Nokia 9, Nokia 6 2018, Nokia 7, Nokia 1 we may also see Nokia 7 Plus with an upgraded processor in the new lineup to be launched.
Other details about Nokia 7 Plus is not known at this point in time but we can assume a slightly bigger display than Nokia 7. With Snapdragon 660 HMS has already made it a strong proposition.
We have got Nokia 9 leaks previously but, this is a little bit different compared to the previous ones. This new leaked render suggests Dual Front Cameras for the Nokia 9 that was not there in the previous leaks.
This new design actually looks a lot better compared to the one that leaked previously. That was improper render & also these Dual Cameras are probably for better Portrait Selfies.
Talking about specifications, the Nokia 9 is expected to feature the new Snapdragon 845 SOC, 6 Gigabytes of RAM, upto 128 Gigabytes of Internal Storage, an 18:9 2K AMOLED Display, Dual Rear & Dual Front Cameras. The 3.5mm Headphone Jack is expected to be there as well. HMD Global h the Nokia 9 alongside the 2018 versions of the Nokia 8 & Nokia 6 in somewhere in the Q1 of 2018.
A new leak originating in China reveals three Nokia 9 variants TA-1005, TA-1009 and the earlier certified TA-1042. The leak also claims that the earlier leaked TA-1054 is not Nokia 9 but Nokia 6 2018 version. The leakster has posted an image that reveals all product variant codes of Nokia 7 and Nokia 9 on Baidu in China.
As one can notice in the image above, these three Nokia 9 variants are shown to be Single-SIM variants. So, possibly there may be more Nokia 9 variants with Dual-SIM support too.
