The wait is over ! The newly announced Nokia phones are launching in India on April 4th. HMD Global has sent out media invites for the launch event which will take place in Delhi. The invite reads "We welcome you to discover the N-powered city of tomorrow". Looks like HMD will be doing something different like the Nokia 2 launch event which took place in a Metro station.
We can expect the launch of all the newly announced smartphones - Nokia 8110 4G, Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco. Nokia 1 is already available to buy from the retail stores starting from today.
We will update you with the exact pricing and availability as soon as HMD announces it.
Another sweet news is that Android 8.1 update is available for Nokia 6 and Nokia 5.
HMD Global announced 4 new smartphones and a feature phone during the Mobile World Congress earlier. Today they have launched Nokia 8 Sirocco in China. The flagship is listed on JD.com for ¥4699.00 , which is approximately ₹47000 / 750 USD / 600 Euro. The flash sale begins on April 3. At the time of writing this article the interests have crossed 10,500 which is a good number, considering the old chipset and lack of OIS.
Another interesting news, especially for Indians, is that all the new Nokia phones announced are now listed in Poorvika's online store. This indicates that we are nearing the launch of these phones in India. The prices have not been mentioned. They are marked as 'upcomingphones'. This listing confirms that the phones won't be online-exclusive. All the Nokia phones will be available in both Online as well as offline stores.
HMD Global had opened official Online Nokia stores in some countries last year and assured that they will be opening an online store in India. Now the online store is live.
All the newly announced phones as well as the older phones are listed in the website ( Old Nokia 6 is out of stock ). This indicates us that we are one step closer to the launch of the newly announced phones in India , including Nokia 8 Sirocco , Nokia 7 Plus , New Nokia 6 , Nokia 1 and Nokia 8110 4G.
The site mentions free shipping, 10 day return policy and secure payments. You can place an order by following the process as below. Once you have checked the availability in your area using the PIN code , you need to login to your account using Google or Facebook. Then give your shipping address & method and finally payment method ( Credit card / Debit card / UPI / Net Banking / Cash on Delivery ) . That's it you have completed your order.
It's great to have the phones available in both online and offline stores . In fact, 70% of the sales of Nokia phones had come from offline stores. So HMD might try to increase the online sales this year.
Nokia 8 was the first Nokia Smartphone to get a place in the Google’s “Android Enterprise Recommended” devices list. But now three newly launched Nokia smartphones Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6 2018 have joined the Nokia 8 in the “Android Enterprise Recommended” program. This was announced by Nokia Mobile on its Twitter account.
Google has recently started certifying Android smartphones for Enterprise to make it easy for Business customers to choose a secure and capable device. Google’s “Android Enterprise Recommended” program is the answer to the dilemma of enterprise buyers about which Android smartphones to go for.
For the devices to get listed as “Android Enterprise Recommended devices” they need to meet some minimum specifications requirements and a promise of 3-years of Monthly Security updates. You can read more about Nokia smartphones which are now a part of this program by clicking here.
This is significant for HMD as this opens one more revenue channel for Nokia Smartphones. Enterprises usually look for Secure and durable devices that they can rely upon. Nokia Android Smartphone range is a good fit and may find many takers in the corporates.

Many Nokia fans are waiting for Nokia 6 2018 to be launched globally. Now it seems Nokia 6 2018 may arrive as Nokia 6.1 and also that the Nokia TA-1016 & TA-1045 duo are Nokia 6.1. Both TA-1016 and TA-1045 have passed FCC certification some days ago, if you remember.
Canadian certification agency has entry for TA-1016 as Nokia 6.1. This kind of confirms that HMD may be planning to launch Nokia 6 2018 as Nokia 6.1.
Now, another entry of Nokia 6.1 was caught at Geekbench and it revealed something that may not make you too happy. It seems just like Nokia 6 2017, Nokia 6 2018 or now Nokia 6.1 will also arrive with 3GB RAM. Though even with 3GB RAM Nokia 6 gives no opportunity to crib and performs very well.
We first learned about Nokia 7 Plus via the Nokia Camera APK tear-down along with a host of other new and unannounced Nokia smartphones. Now, Nokia 7 Plus has appeared at Geekbench revealing that it will be powered by Snapdragon 660 processor, one of the first Android smartphones to do so.
This makes Nokia 7 Plus again a good upgrade over Nokia 7 as Nokia 7 runs on Snapdragon 630. As per the Geekbench listing, it will come with 4GB RAM. But it may have a 6GB variant too as we have seen in the case of Nokia 7.
MWC 2018 is certainly getting more and more exciting with these new leaks as it seems not only Nokia 9, Nokia 6 2018, Nokia 7, Nokia 1 we may also see Nokia 7 Plus with an upgraded processor in the new lineup to be launched.
Other details about Nokia 7 Plus is not known at this point in time but we can assume a slightly bigger display than Nokia 7. With Snapdragon 660 HMS has already made it a strong proposition.
